Tide windows
I must be exact about the crossing, because the tide alone decides when anyone may reach the island.
- The island is reached on foot, over a tidal causeway 1.2 km long.
- The causeway is open for arrivals from 09:40 to 13:10, and for departures from 22:15 to 01:30.
- Nobody crosses outside those windows; the harbour boat is for emergencies only.
- The last set ends at 21:45, so that everyone reaches the causeway in time.
- These are that day's tide times, and they apply to everyone on the island without exception.

Cup, card and boots
- Cup
- No single-use plastic is allowed on the island, so I ask everyone to bring a cup of their own.
- Food
- Food comes from two island kitchens, and I can confirm that both take cash and card.
- Boots
- I would wear boots, because parts of the causeway are wet sand and seaweed.

The Skerrow Island Trust
The festival is organised by the Skerrow Island Trust, a volunteer charity, and its profits go to repairing the sea wall.
This is the fourth year of Causeway, which was first held in 2024.
